After playing an independent slate their first two years of existence on the gridiron, the Shadow Creek Sharks finally get their inaugural shot at UIL varsity opponents next month.

The Sharks open at home against Summer Creek Aug. 31 at the AISD’s new Heritage complex football stadium, Freedom Field at 7 p.m. Kickoff times are also 7 p.m. for eight other games on SC’s slate, while the Saturday regular season finale at Rosenberg Terry kicks off at 1 p.m.

Shadow Creek then plays at Magnolia Sept. 7, before concluding non-district play with Alief Elsik at Crump Stadium Sept. 14. Following a bye week, the Sharks open District 10-5A Division I play at home against Angleton Sept 28, before playing at Texas City Oct. 5. Remaining home games will be played against Galveston Ball (Oct. 12), Richmond Foster (Oct. 26) and Hightower (Nov. 2), while the road slate is rounded out with trips to Friendswood (Oct. 19) and Rosenberg Terry (Nov. 10).

Other prospects for the Sharks feature running back Marquez Huland, linebackers Darrion Brown and Courtney Brown, offensive linemen Damian Jackson and Jon Ray, receivers Ketrick Burkhalter and Axel Cruz and defensive lineman Ronald Triplette.

Shadow Creek was also ranked 10th in the Houston area by VYPE Magazine’s preseason poll with safety Alford an... Click here to read full article
